As a Canadian girl, I did lots of fishing with my family. We used to sit in a boat for hours trolling along with our baited hooks hoping for a bite! If it was just a nibble and the fish didn’t bite nothing would come of it and you would then have to reel the line in to check the bait and try again.

In photography there is a saying about hunting and fishing… hunting involves being on the move looking to capture an image without stopping. Fishing, on the other hand, is about finding a strategic spot and waiting patiently.

A gallery is only as good as its weakest image

With the advent of digital photography it is very easy to press the shutter button and take countless pictures whether you are using a phone or camera. The hardest part is going through them, selecting the best ones and culling the rest.

It’s even more difficult to organise all those keepers.

Do you know anyone who can pull up any image in their collection at the drop of a hat?
I do… and it’s not me.

I love her approach!

The funniest thing happened yesterday…

I had a long chat with a potential client; I am very passionate about what I do and sometimes I get a bit carried away!

I got a text from her later that evening and I was really excited to open it. The funny thing was that the message she sent was clearly meant for someone else. I quote…

“She does pics and helps with marketing. She talked a lot on the phone and gave me lots of good advice… I love her approach!”

Of course when she realised she had sent it to me by mistake, she apologised profusely so it was all fine and I took it as the lovely compliment she intended.
